USTA and IMPACT Parks joined forces to reach more communities. Together, we work with park districts to maximize the benefits of racquet sports and create fun, active, Community Hubs in neighborhoods across the U.S.
A Community Hub is a park design that provides a vast array of multigenerational activities. Designed by USTA and IMPACT Parks, this concept’s goal is to get more people to your parks to recreate, play, and stay. By providing comfortable green spaces, play activities for all ages, shade and seating for resting, and walking paths for exploring, more people visit, more people stay, and more people engage with activities throughout the park.
Community Hubs start with intentionally designed environments that meet the needs of multiple generations. Walking paths connect each area together with play and green spaces at the center, so that all activities are interconnected. After a game of tennis, kids can get even more energy out on the playground. Neighbors can meet for a walk through the park before or after a match. And the whole family can stay for a picnic in the park together. Community Hubs are community destinations - for birthday parties, tournaments, and community group meet ups. They are where a parent and child can play a friendly game of tennis or siblings can test out a new sport together.
Our data shows that evidence-based designs increase activity, return visitors, and encourage larger multigenerational groups to visit.
